The International Monetary Fund for the first time on Friday publicly called on the private sector to help finance Greece and other European peripheral countries, warning that failure to help fund the ailing economies could force sovereign-debt defaults and risk derailing the global recovery. After weeks of brinksmanship over Greece, Germany gave ground Friday, improving the chances that the struggling country will avoid a messy debt default this year that could threaten the stability of the euro currency area. German Chancellor Angela Merkel dropped her government's insistence on forcing a rescheduling of Greek government bonds, ending a six-week standoff that threatened to halt any more loan payouts to Greece. Instead, she said was open to a voluntary rollover of the country's debt. The move came as the Greek prime minister reorganized his government, naming a new finance minister to help overcome public resistance and push an austerity package into law. Greece's financial future appears to be in good hands for the next month as Germany and France have agreed on a plan to handle Greek debt. The focus of the Greek discussions now shifts to Luxembourg on Sunday and Monday, where European finance ministers are due to hold talks. A new aid package for Greece would stave off the threat of a Greek debt default in the short term. But it wouldn't address the bigger challenge facing Europe: the likelihood that Greece won't be able to repay all of its debt, and the difficulty of cutting Greece's debt burden without sparking capital flight from other struggling countries around the euro. Personally, I have no doubt that the European oligarchy will do everithing possible to rescue the ill conceived "euro" ...a burden for all the europeans.

Traian Băsescu azt mondta a PDL megyei vezetőinek a kedd esti találkozón, hogy feladatuk, meggyőzni parlamenti képviseletüket, hogy szakértő miniszterelnökre van szükség, nyilatkozták hivatalos források, akik szerint Emil Bocot leváltják a PDL Országos Egyeztető Tanácsának (CNC) ülése előtt.
Az idézett források szerint Traian Băsescu kitart elképzelése mellett, hogy szakértői miniszterelnökre van szükség és Emil Bocot lecserélik a PDL Országos Egyeztető Tanácsának (CNC) ülése előtt, ahol majd bejelenti, hogy pályázik egy újabb pártelnöki mandátumra.
Az idézett források szerint az elnök elmondta a megyei vezetőknek, hogy a kormány belföldi és külföldi hitelessége miatt szükséges egy szakértői miniszterelnök, aki gazdasági szakember és ezt a megyei elnököknek el kell magyarázniuk a párt képviselőinek, majd egyeztetnek erről a koalíciós partnerekkel is, akik biztosítékot várnak, hogy a változás nem érinti jelenlegi pozícióikat.
A gazdasági szakértői miniszterelnök kinevezéséről tárgyaltak az Európai Néppárttal is, illetve lehet, hogy pont néppárti javaslatra született a döntés.
A források szerint Boc akkor mond le, ha mindezt sikerül tisztázniuk, majd megszervezik a párt Országos Egyeztető Tanácsát, amelyet két héttel az RMDSZ kongresszusa utánra halasztottak és amelyet március 15-ig, 60 nappal a kongresszus előttig meg kell tartani.
Ugyanakkor arra számítanak, hogy Emil Bocnak sikerül egyensúlyt teremtenie a PDL-n belüli táborok között és Vasile Blaga nem indul az elnökválasztáson, hogy legyen verseny Frunzăverde jelentkezik, akinek azonban nincs kellő támogatottsága.
A PDL-ben múlt héten azt tárgyalták, hogy elhalasztják a Országos Egyeztető Tanács ülését, ám a miniszterelnökcseréről szóló vasárnapi trágyalások után a párt vezetőtanácsának hétfői ülésén már nem hoztak erre vonatkozó döntést
